JOB TITLE: Board Administrator

JOB TYPE: Annual contract, Per diem up to 30 billable hours per month

LOCATION: State of California, Remote job

SALARY: $30 per hour 

REPORTS TO: SDNC-CAMFT Board of Directors


POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating a variety of administrative, and support functions for the SDNC-CAMFT Board of Directors and related committees, chapter members and the general public. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interfaces with Board members, chapter members, State Board and the general public on as needed basis.
  • Reviews important information, deadlines and State Board expectations with Board President on a monthly basis to ensure accordance with pre-established parliamentary procedures. 
  • Keeps minutes of Board meetings, as well as maintains electronic copies of all minutes in compliance with audit requirements, including preparation and tracking of all Board related agenda, resolutions and activities.
  • Creates, updates, distributes and files Board communications and documentation, including all information related to Board administration and governance.
  • Maintains Board web page and all Board-related records on staff shared server.
  • Prepares expense reports for President and Board Members for submission to Treasurer.
  • Assists with special projects and performs other related functions delegated or assigned.
  • Attends Board meetings as needed, in-person or remotely.
  • Provides administrative support for Directors; responds to telephonic, electronic and written requests of Directors; processes incoming correspondence; maintains filing system for committee actions.
  • Perform other related duties as requested and or required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of two years of administrative experience.
  • Proven ability to treat sensitive/confidential information with appropriate discretion.
  • Excellent customer service, organization, and communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in administering organizational diversity plans.
  • Professional demeanor and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of staff, participants, and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, with proven ability to proactively organize and prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to CAMFT mission and values.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience providing Board of Directors administration.   
  • Previous experience working for a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience with coordinating legislative efforts on behalf of a nonprofit organization or cause.
  • Familiarity with professional association work.
  • Familiarity with website platforms and design.

POSITION CHARACTERISTICS

  • This is an annually contracted, per diem (up to 30 hours per month) position.
  • The position offers flexibility in schedule and working remotely.

Physical Demands: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items less than 15 pounds (e.g. paper, books or small electronics/items) driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Environment: Able to work remotely. Employee would need to provide their own equipment including a personal computer, reliable internet access, telephone, and audio/visual functions for teleconference capability as needed.
