Webinar Description:

In this workshop, CAMFT Staff Attorney, Alain Montgomery, JD will explain the new laws that will take effect in 2026 that impact the practice of psychotherapy in California. This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the changes to current laws and the new laws on a state and federal level. Participants will obtain insight into relevant and applicable legal, ethical, and business considerations.

Educational Goals:

Participants will gain an understanding of the changes that will impact the practice of psychotherapy.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Describe the new laws and regulations going into effect.
  
• Distinguish and explain the new laws and regulations with existing laws and regulations.
  
• Implement at least one applicable change into their practice.
