As caring professionals we hear the stories of the ones we serve and witness the range of their humanity. It is not our experience yet we are holding space for it. We are carrying it with them. This can result in what has been called “vicarious trauma,” “secondary trauma,” “compassion fatigue,” and “trauma exposure response.” This workshop is for you if you are caregiver, counselor, nurse, doctor, or other professional supporting others in their suffering and humanity. Learn the signs, symptoms and ways you can support your body and mind through your work. In this environment space is held for you instead of you holding it for others, allowing you to reconnect with the why behind your work and tune into your particular BodyMind needs to stay regulated throughout your day. This approach blends a bottom up approach to the brain through movement and breath with top down mindful inquiry to support whole brain integration and allow for replenishing on a deep level. You will learn to track your own physiology and nervous system so it’s easier to regulate during stress and dysregulating experiences.
No yoga experience required. Includes slow, full body movement. Please bring a yoga mat.
Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Walk-ins are not permitted. If you are not a member of our chapter, you must pay the fee in order to attend the event. Click the button below to register for this event:
