As President of the North County chapter of the California Association of Marriage Family Therapists, I would like to extend a warm hello to our new and returning members.
As fall quickly approaches, we are entering into my most favorite season. Visions of pumpkin spiced lattes, the changing of the leaves and colder weather are on my mind. It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is upon us, and we are in the final stretches of 2020.
And what a difficult and unexpected year 2020 has been! So many disappointments, challenges and losses we’ve all experienced in our world…in our communities…and personally this past year. Individually, we’ve had to hold sacred space and be emotionally present for our clients who are seeking understanding and relief…while giving ourselves some grace and kindness as we also seek understanding and relief.
Collectively, we’ve provided thousands of hours of clinical and emotional support, quickly set up telehealth, and had to adapt to new technologies and way of life. As clinicians and as humans, I know we’ve all seen how deep the tentacles of the pandemic have reached, and have had to dig deep as we’ve journeyed alongside our client’s, family members, friends…and each other professionally. I thank you all for your patience, grace and humanity.
With that, I invite you to visit this webpage from time-to-time. SD-NC CAMFT provides monthly presentations offering continuing educational opportunities with captivating speakers, and regular networking opportunities to come together for connection and a sharing of resources, experiences and learning.
I want you to feel a sense of community, and to know that there is a large network of professionals within our chapter that bring expertise and experience that is available at your fingertips. Literally! I hope you stay connected to each other. Reach out to me if you have an idea, feedback or a presentation suggestion. This is your chapter. I am just the steward of holding the space for it.
Extending kindness and grace to you all…
