Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are small, member-led groups dedicated to fostering growth and knowledge around a specific topic of interest. SIGs are free to attend and open to members and non-members of SDNC-CAMFT. SIGs do not provide CEUs.

If you are interested in joining a SIG, register to attend a scheduled meeting or reach out to the contact listed for a group (see below).

If you would like to start a SIG, please read the instructions below and contact SDNC-CAMFT at outreach@sdnc-camft.org.

We currently have 2 active SIGs:

Sand Play
Gail Gerbie
Private Practice
Ryan Buchmann

Step 1:  Send an e-mail to SDNC-CAMFT's Director of Community Outreach (outreach@sdnc-camft.org) with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Type of SIG you would like to create and lead (e.g., supervisors, case consultation, EMDR)

Step 2:  The SIG will be approved or denied during the next board meeting.  You will be contacted once the decision has been made.

Step 3:  Upon approval, reply with the following information

  • When and where the first meeting will take place
  • Your contact information (for those attending the SIG)
    • Note:  This will be displayed on our public events webpage, so we encourage listing a business email or phone number.

Step 5:  After your SIG's attendees have determined when and where the next meeting will take place, send us the information ASAP so we can repeat Step 4

Step 4:  Your SIG's Meeting will be displayed on:
